Activities Cafés

Turquoise Goat Board Game Cafe (122 W Hastings St.)

A fun-cozy board game café where students only have to pay 5$ on Wednesdays to access various board games for up to three hours. If you’re familiar with Randolph in Quebec, I would say that it is pretty similar, but bonus point, you don’t have to have 18+ to enter. I would recommend looking up online maybe for some games that you and your friends would like to try out to spend most of your time playing. The food and drinks are a bit pricey, so maybe consider spending the afternoon there and going elsewhere for dinner.

TurF (2041 W 4th Avenue)

TurF is a “three-in-one” place where you can buy sporty clothes, take a workout class and then calmly eat healthy vegan food. Such a journey could motivate and invigorate you to get back in shape, overall making you feel better. If you are on the go, don’t worry, it proposes drinks, bakeries and vegan bowls as takeouts.

This café has such a diverse menu! You can get Japanese green tea, lattes, shaved ice, matcha-cake blended, parfaits, soufflé pancake and noodles. However, you should try out the 70$ for two people Japanese High Tea set. It includes the following delicacies: premium kabusecha tea, soft serve ice cream, Shiratama Dango, Nama Chocolate, Macaron, Dacquoise, cakes/cookies of choice, sushi sandwiches, grilled unagi, salad and Shirodashi soup. For such a long list of food, it is worth your money.

A Japenese-Vietnamese café that proposes coffees, summery drinks (milk teas, matcha drinks and smoothies), sandwiches (all sorts of Banh Mi and paninis) and savoury desserts (moissants, kawaii melon pan, cheesecakes and cakes). The viral moissant is on their menu, a chewy mochi-croissant with various stuffings (mango yuzu, matcha, coffee…).

Little Café on Robson (1258 Robson St.)

A viral cozy café where you can devour a supreme croissant of the flavour you want! No joke, the stuffing goes from lemon to coffee to London to Oreo and so much more. This place also offers sandwiches and drinks like matcha, tea and coffee. Go try this out!

Beaucoup Bakery (2150 Fir St.)

This is a well-known café-bakery with many regular clients because of the delicacy of the pastries. Their Breton cake, the Kouign Amann, is a staple there, which is a buttery cake with caramelized croissant layers with a pinch of salt. It also proposes cakes, croissants, scrolls and cookies that are ideal for satisfying your sweet craving.
